Viscometer with autosampler

One of our popular systems is our U-Visc automated viscometer which has full compliance with ASTM D445, integrated auto-sampler and tubes based on the well-know Ubbelohde design. The device quantifies kinematic viscosity in Newtonian fluids such as fuels, lubricants, and dissolved polymers between 0.15 and 25,000 mm²/s.

The instrument is developed to be versatile and adaptable while being simple to use. There are a variety of types available, ranging from one bath with one or two viscometer tubes to two baths with one or two viscometer tubes per bath, each working independently.

Vacuum or pressure can be used to insert samples. The latter prevents sample evaporation, which can be a problem in some dilute viscosity applications. Viscometers can be swapped out in minutes rather than hours, reducing downtime.

Our biggest model, U-Visc 220, was designed for high throughput and simultaneous testing with 4 viscometer tubes. It includes in each bath a 32-position sampling tray (16 samples per tube), enabling entirely unattended operation. The equipment can handle up to 40 measurements an hour, depending on the viscosity of the sample, thereby meeting the demands of high-volume laboratories that process several hundred samples every day.
